Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• MA competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to patient, practice, and organizational goals through relationship development and care team coordination.
• Assists patient during visits: facilitates flow, informs delays, updates medication/allergy lists, reviews screening questions, and acts as liaison to ensure smooth service.
• Communicates clearly with patient and team: provides hand-off to provider in exam room.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision: obtaining vitals, EKGs, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, administering immunizations (certified MA).
• Leads population health outreach and health coaching to meet quality goals; assists with data gathering and program activity.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring sterility and proper expiration dates; keeps area accessible.
• Uses EHR to queue prescriptions and add new medications; documents visits for accurate billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests; verifies insurance, prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
• Identifies OSHA compliance issues and reports adverse events; protects PHI for TPO.
