Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Weekend Unit Coordinator to support patient flow, admissions, and medical records on Saturdays and Sundays, 7 am–7:30 pm, with rotating holidays. The role interfaces with admissions, clinical staff, and station leadership to ensure timely information and service excellence.

Responsibilities include charting, order transcription, triaging calls, and coordinating with case management for follow-up care. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: 1 year of customer service experience in healthcare or a customer-facing setting.
• Associate's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant communication with admissions on patient status and transfers.
• Review bed assignments and relay to clinical staff.
• Greets and directs patients, visitors, physicians and staff per service standards.
• Prepare and maintain patient charts and medical records per policy.
• Transcribe physician orders and verify in appropriate systems.
• Support unit communications, triage calls, and relay messages as needed.
• Enter orders and generate reports in hospital systems.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments with case management and social workers.
• Handle emergency communications and after-hours duties as required.
• Assist with orientation and training of new unit coordinators.
