Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of customer service in healthcare or a clinical setting preferred.
• Associate's degree is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Remains in constant communications with admissions on patient status and shifts.
• Review bed assignments and relay information to clinical staff.
• Greet and direct patients, visitors, physicians and staff per service standards.
• Assemble and maintain patient charts; file data in medical records.
• Label patient names, update charts and computer records (diet, allergy, weight).
• Transcribe physician orders to appropriate information systems and follow through.
• Support unit communication by triaging calls and relaying messages.
• Enter/verify orders in hospital computer systems and generate reports.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments with case management and social work.
• Assist with orientation and training of new unit coordinators.
