Job summary

Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant to support the interprofessional team in delivering high quality, cost-effective care. The role assists with ADLs under licensed supervision, coordinates with physicians and floors, and helps with bed management and unit operations.

The position requires CNA/CMA/PCA experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 18 months CNA/CMA/PCA experience required.
• 1 year of secretarial/office experience or 6 months of internal cross-training within Houston Methodist preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Answers unit telephone calls and transfers; facilitates throughput and guides patients and visitors.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with peers, staff, and physicians to support patient care.
• Contributes to department scores for employee engagement and patient satisfaction.
• Under RN supervision, provides direct patient care and documents care given.
• Pulls daily reports and coordinates bed management, physician calls, and transfers as needed.
