Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Unit Administrative Assistant to support the interprofessional team in delivering high quality, cost-effective care. You will respond to nurse calls, assist with transfers or transports, and ensure timely communication to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool, etc.)
• Two years of secretarial/office, college/vocational training or patient care
• Prior health care experience and/or medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt and personalized service to all patients and greets patients/visitors.
• Communicates effectively with health care team; reports pertinent patient data clearly.
• Organizes unit workflow, handles multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Follows through with transfers/transport for procedures and coordination with departments.
