Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a part-time PCA/UAA to support the interprofessional team in delivering high-quality care. The role includes assisting with ADLs, coordinating with physicians and staff, answering calls, and maintaining unit workflow under licensed nurse supervision.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 18+ months CNA/CMA/PCA experience, with BLS certification. Evening shifts, weekends, and holidays rotate, with non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Sixteen to eighteen months of CNA/CMA/PCA experience preferred.
• One year of secretarial/office experience or six months of internal cross-training within Houston Methodist.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Answers unit incoming telephone calls and transfers as appropriate. Supports effective throughput with timely communication.
• Greets patients and visitors, provides directions and information, and collaborates with the interprofessional team.
• Organizes unit workflow and paperwork, proactively problem-solves, and manages multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Performs basic ADL care under RN direction and assists with patient comfort, safety, nutrition, and daily activities.
