Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant (PCA/UAA) to support the interprofessional team in delivering high‑quality care. The role performs basic nursing assistant tasks under a licensed nurse, handling ADLs, safety, nutrition, and patient comfort while maintaining Houston Methodist ICARE values.

The position is evenings, part-time (24 hours per week) with rotating weekends/holidays, requiring BLS and CNA/PCA experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Eighteen months CNA/CMA/PCA experience preferred; 1 year secretarial/office experience or 6 months cross-training.
• BLS certification required (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming unit telephone calls and transfers.
• Greet patients and visitors; coordinate directions and information.
• Support throughput and problem resolution with timely communication.
• Perform basic ADL assistance and document care per policy.
