Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant (PCA/UAA) to support the interprofessional team in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care. The role includes basic ADL assistance, family-centered care, and coordination of calls with physicians, bed management, and unit operations under supervision of a licensed nurse.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, 18 months of CNA/CMA/PCA experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 18 months CNA/CMA/PCA experience
• 1 year secretarial/office experience or 6 months internal cross-training within Houston Methodist

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls for the unit and transfers as appropriate.
• Facilitates and supports effective throughput with timely communication.
• Greets patients and visitors to the unit, assisting with directions, information and guidance.
• Works well with others to contribute to the work effort and problem resolution.
