Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is seeking an Unit Administrative Assistant to support interprofessional teams and coordinate transfers or transport for procedures. You will respond to nurse calls, assist with patient needs, and ensure smooth unit operations.

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2 years secretarial/office or patient care experience, and strong communication and computer skills. BLS preferred. This role emphasizes outstanding customer service and ICARE values.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of secretarial/office, college/vocational training or patient care.
  • Prior health care experience and/or medical terminology preferred.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, personalized service to patients; handles nurse calls and directs transfers.
  • Communicates positively with health-care team; reports patient data clearly.
  • Contributes to unit score improvements via peer accountability.
  • Organizes unit workflow and prioritizes tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinates facilities/biomed requests and acts as in-house courier.
  • Assists with calls to physicians, bed management, and transfers.
  • Follows up on tests and procedures as directed by the nurse.
  • Models professional behavior to improve patient satisfaction scores.
