Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a dedicated Nurse Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on patient care on the Spine department's day shift. You will support routine activities, monitor patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a current BLS certification within 30 days, and prior nurse aide experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records vital signs, charting patient data and reporting abnormalities.
• Monitors and documents fluid intake/output to support safe care.
• Perform blood draws as trained and follow phlebotomy safety protocols.
• Provide direct patient care including activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
• Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
• Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
• Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
