Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN, seeks a compassionate team member for the OBED department on the day shift. You will perform essential patient care tasks, monitor vitals, and support safe daily living activities.

This full-time role requires BLS certification within 30 days and a high school diploma or equivalent. Nurse Aide preferred; on-the-job training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date required (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
• Nurse Aide preferred.
• High school diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.
• Required licensure/certification can substitute education/experience if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and reporting abnormal findings.
• Monitors and documents fluid intake and output to support safe patient care.
• Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
• Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
