Job summary

Ascension's Saint Thomas West in Nashville seeks an experienced RN for the MedTele unit, delivering comprehensive acute care with continuous cardiac monitoring. This full-time night shift role offers a sign-on bonus and a collaborative environment within a Catholic health system.

You will administer cardiac meds, perform assessments, and coordinate with cardiology teams to ensure smooth transitions from acute care to home or step-down settings.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• RN license in Tennessee or multi-state (Compact State) recognition prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive acute care to Med/Surg telemetry patients with continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Administer cardiac medications safely and monitor patient responses and vitals.
• Perform ongoing clinical assessments and manage post-acute recovery needs to support outcomes.
• Coordinate care with cardiologists, hospitalists, and discharge planners for smooth transitions.
• Educate patients and families on heart-healthy lifestyles and medication management.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver comprehensive acute care to diverse Med/Surg patients while managing continuous telemetry monitoring to quickly identify, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythm changes.
• Administer specialized cardiac medications safely and effectively, monitoring patient responses and vital signs to optimize cardiovascular stability and recovery.
• Execute personalized care plans by carrying out physician orders, performing continuous clinical assessments, and managing post-acute recovery needs to drive positive patient outcomes.
• Lead seamless care coordination alongside cardiologists, hospitalists, and discharge planners to guide smooth transitions from acute treatment to home or step-down care.
• Empower patients and families through proactive education on heart-healthy lifestyles, medication management, and warning signs to reduce hospital readmissions.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Must obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for this unit within the first 3 months.
