Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support daily patient care on the Nursery specialty. This full-time day shift role emphasizes compassionate bedside care, safety, and teamwork within a Catholic health system.

You’ll assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, document care accurately, and help maintain a clean, prepared environment. Licensure and BLS are required; nurse aide experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be current or obtained within 1 month of hire.
• Nurse Aide certification or experience preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Direct Patient Care: Assisting with daily living activities (hygiene, mobility, and positioning) to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Clinical Monitoring: Observing patients for physical or emotional changes and immediately reporting updates to the nursing team.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring all care activities are properly logged.
• Environmental Management: Overseeing the cleanliness of patient rooms and the readiness of medical equipment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
