Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and support the care team in assigned units.

You will assist with activities of daily living, collect specimens and perform routine tasks such as venipuncture, EKGs, patient transport, and documentation, while ensuring privacy, safety and high‑quality care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as CNA or Patient Care Tech required
• Care technician experience or student nurse in junior/senior year preferred
• CNA certification required in the relevant jurisdiction
• CPR certification within 90 days required

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene
• Collect specimens and perform venipuncture; obtain EKGs
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy and dignity in care delivery
• Record vital signs and care data in the health record
• Assist with patient transport, discharge processes and body care
