Job summary

MedStar Health in Washington, DC is seeking a patient care support teammate to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with ADLs, perform venipuncture, EKGs, IV care, and help with tests while maintaining documentation in the health record.

This position emphasizes safety, privacy, and compassionate care. You will support nursing and medical staff, accompany patients, monitor vital signs, and help with discharge processes as needed, within unit policies and SPIRIT

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA program completion or EMT/Paramedic experience required.
• Nursing student with clinical rotation or RN/LPN program graduate is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and procedures under supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform venipuncture, EKGs, IV care.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy and dignity; prepare patients for providers.
• Document vitals, intake/output, and data in health records.
• Transport patients, assist with discharges, and stock supplies.
• Attend rounds and participate in quality improvement teams.
