Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital - Tucson in Partnership with Select Medical is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for per diem 12-hour day or night shifts (7:00-7:00). Under RN supervision you provide routine patient care and assist with documentation.

The role supports patients with dressing, bathing, mobility, feeding and turning, contributing to a compassionate and safe inpatient rehabilitation environment. A hospital background and BLS certification within 90 days are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or related field (medical assistant or actively enrolled nursing student).
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Performs services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
