Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Tucson Northwest is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for PRN/per diem night shifts. You will support nursing staff with basic patient care, bathing, oral hygiene, and daily rounds while helping transport patients and maintain clean, orderly rooms.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or relevant experience) and hospital CNA-type experience. BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA, or related field (e.g. medical assistant, RN student).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less bath products and providing oral hygiene and feeding care.
• Participate in hourly rounds and monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers and assist in moving patients using stretchers and wheelchairs.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
