Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our inpatient team in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time position supports nursing staff and delivers compassionate patient care on 12-hour day or night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year hospital PCT/nursing assistant experience or related field.
• BLS certification required or completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform routine patient care tasks and document care provided.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with movement in/out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Provide dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding assistance.
• Respond to patient calls and perform timely services to support patient well-being; participate in turning/repositioning and hourly rounds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Performs services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.
