Job summary

Select Medical's hospital in Tucson Northwest is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on a PRN/Per Diem basis for day shifts. The role focuses on direct patient care with responsibilities including bathing, feeding, rounds, and patient transport.

The ideal candidate brings a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA or related healthcare experience, and BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Part-time per diem status with competitive pay and weekend shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care for patients.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Assist with transportation of patients to treatment centers and move patients using stretchers or wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment; keep patient rooms tidy.
• Maintain unit stock of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: Select Specialty Hospital Tucson Northwest

Schedule: PRN/Per Diem, Day Shift

Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour plus shift differential for weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
