Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Tucson Northwest is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for PRN/per diem night shifts. The position supports post-ICU inpatient care and works to maintain patient comfort and safety.

You will perform basic care tasks, rounds, and patient transport as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of related work experience.
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, CNA certification, or related field (i.e. medical assistant, RN student).
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with move to and from stretchers/wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour plus shift diff

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
