Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital - Tucson, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for full-time, 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Compensation ranges from $19.32 to $24.50 per hour, based on years of experience, with comprehensive benefits and a strong orientation program.

Under RN supervision, the PCT performs routine patient care, transports patients, assists with dressing, bathing, feeding, and hourly rounds, and completes timely documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or related field.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Performs services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.
