Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital – East in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for per diem days and nights to support inpatient rehabilitation services.

The role requires a high school diploma and hospital experience; a BLS certification is required or to be completed within 90 days. Per diem shifts include 6:00pm–6:30am. Location offers orientation and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification or completion within first 90 days of employment.
• Experience as hospital patient care technician or nursing assistant or in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from treatment areas; assist in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Performs patient care tasks including dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient calls and performs services timely to support patient wellbeing; participates in hourly rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.

• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.

• Performs services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.

• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.

• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.
