Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Nursing Assistant for Swedish Hospital in Chicago. This full-time role (36 hrs/week) operates days (7a–7:30p) with alternating weekends and rotating holidays.

You will provide direct patient care under a Clinical Nurse Manager, document vitals, and assist with room setup and admissions. Required CNA certification or completion of accredited nursing assistant training (or equivalent experience), CPR certification, a high school diploma, and

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with others.
• Ability to uphold confidentiality and privacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; organized and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, and health care team.
• Follows standard precautions with all patients and uses PPE as required.
• Assists with patient hygiene based on level of need.
• Assists with elimination needs and toilet or bedside commode use.
• Sets up patient room for admission, places ECG leads, SPO2 cable, and BP cuff.
• Assists RN with admitting patients and taking initial vitals, including patients with Covid-19.
• Assists in meeting nutritional needs and ambulation.
• Follows safety policies and patient handling guidelines.
• Performs 12-lead ECG as directed by the RN.
• Maintains equipment and stocks nursing unit with supplies.
• Documents vital signs and point-of-care glucose results in EMR.

Education
