Job summary

Endeavor Health's Swedish Hospital, Chicago, seeks a Patient Care Technician - Nursing Assistant for 4E Med/Surg/Tele. This full-time role (36 hrs/week) covers days (7a–7:30p) with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will provide patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager, communicate with patients and families, follow PPE and safety protocols, assist with hygiene, mobility, and nutrition, and document in the EMR.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
• Ability to interact effectively with others and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication; organized and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned unit under nurse supervision.
• Communicates respectfully with patients, families, and health care team.
• Uses standard precautions and PPE as required by patient condition.
• Assists with hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation, ROM, and safety.
• Sets up rooms, assists with admissions, and records vital signs in EMR.
• Maintains stocking, privacy, and cleanliness of patient areas.
• Performs daily tasks including specimen collection and basic monitoring as directed.
