Job summary

Endeavor Health's Swedish Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician (Nursing Assistant) for the PCU unit. This full-time overnight role (36 hours/week) requires night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager, perform vital signs, assist with daily living activities, document data in the EMR, and help ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Must hold CNA certification or complete accredited nursing assistant training.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and health care teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients on the nursing unit under supervision.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Assist with hygiene, elimination needs, and feeding as required.
• Assist with patient admissions and initial vital signs.
• Meet patient safety and equipment handling requirements.
• Maintain patient privacy and clean equipment between patients.
