Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician – Nursing Assistant for the Med-Surg/Behavioral Health unit in Chicago. Nights, full-time (36 hrs/wk) with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Requires CNA training and CPR, HS diploma, and strong communication and confidentiality skills.

The PCT will assist with patient care, chart vital signs, and support RNs in admissions and rounds, while ensuring safety and dignity for all patients.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of accredited nursing assistant training.
• American Heart Association CPR certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with others and uphold confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; organized and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on assigned unit under supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and health-care team.
• Follow standard and special precautions, use PPE as required.
• Assist with hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation, and ROM.
• Set up rooms, attach ECG leads, take initial vital signs, and document data in EMR.
• Support RN in admissions and patient handoffs; ensure patient safety.
• Prepare supplies and maintain unit stock; keep patient privacy.
