Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician – Nursing Assistant (AP5) for full-time hours at Swedish Hospital. The role supports RNs with patient care tasks, vital signs, and room setup, including Covid-19 patient care.

Requires CNA certification or accredited training, CPR, high school diploma, and strong communication. Competitive shift-based pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of accredited nursing assistant program or equivalent
• American Heart Association CPR Certification required
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to interact effectively with others
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards
• Strong written and verbal communication, organized and self-directed

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on assigned unit under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and health-care team
• Follow standard precautions and PPE usage
• Assist with hygiene, elimination, and mobility as needed
• Set up rooms for new admissions and attach monitoring leads
• Record vital signs and glucose results in EMR
• Assist RN with admissions and patient transfers
• Assist with nutrition and mobility as directed
• Adhere to safety and fall-prevention protocols
• Complete hand-offs at shift change
