Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Patient Care Technician (Nursing Assistant) for Swedish Hospital in Chicago. The role is full time (32 hrs) with evenings, 3p-11:30p, four days a week, including alternating weekends and holidays.

You will float to units as needed and provide direct patient care under a nurse's supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assisting with hygiene and mobility, setting up ECGs, and maintaining EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with others and maintain confidentiality.
• Effective written and verbal communication; self-directed and organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on the assigned unit under supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and health-care team.
• Follow standard precautions and use PPE as required.
• Assist with patient hygiene, elimination needs, and ambulation.
• Prepare patient rooms with ECG leads and monitors for new admissions.
• Assist RNs with admitting patients and taking initial vital signs, including Covid-19 patients.
• Support nutritional needs and help with mobility and range of motion.
• Document vital signs and glucose results in the EMR accurately.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and follow safety policies.
• Perform rounding and hand off reports at shift end.
