Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support a patient-centered care team under supervision. You will assist with ADLs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, and IV monitoring, and help with routine treatments and transport.

The role emphasizes safety, privacy, and documentation in the health record. The position requires a CNA and/or EMT/Paramedic credentials, plus potential nursing student status or RN/LPN training, with CPR certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or
• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program or equivalent
• Completion of EMT/Paramedic program with at least six months experience or Student Nurse with clinical Rotations

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Obtain EKGs, apply electrodes, monitor physiologic data.
• Support providers and RNs in examinations and procedures.
• Assist with patient transport, rounds, and documentation in the health record.
