Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with ADLs, collect specimens, perform venipuncture, IV care, EKGs, and document data in health records while maintaining patient comfort and privacy.

Responsibilities include notifying RNs of changes, assisting with transport and admissions, and supporting staff during rounds and treatments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program required.
• 1 year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Tech required.
• CPT - Phlebotomy preferred; CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Collect specimens and perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Support patient comfort, privacy, and confidentiality during care.
• Assist with rounds, handoffs, and promptly relay changes in patient condition.
• Transports patients, prepares them for providers, and assists with exams.
