Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a caregiving professional to join the patient-centered care team. The role includes direct patient care under supervision, assisting with ADLs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, IV care, and routine monitoring in the health record.

You will assist nursing and medical staff, prepare patients for examinations, and support patient mobility and safety across units while maintaining dignity and privacy at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or
• Completion of a CNA program or equivalent required
• Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic program with 6+ months experience required
• Nursing student with at least one year of clinical rotation or a graduate of approved nursing program (LPN/RN)

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Collect specimens and perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Monitor and document vital signs and I&O in the health record.
• Support patient comfort, privacy, and dignity; observe for changes in condition.
• Prepare patients for provider examinations and assist during procedures.
• Transport patients and assist with discharge/appointments as needed.
