Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician III to support nursing teams across units. The role focuses on delivering safe patient care, monitoring and reporting changes, and assisting with daily living activities.

You will collaborate with RNs, unit staff, and other clinicians to maintain high-quality service. The position requires PCT II level competencies, telemetry exposure, phlebotomy in some locations, and flexibility for day shifts with weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1 year of acute care/hospital experience or EMT Paramedic background.
• English literacy to read and write clearly.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient changes to the RN promptly.
• Provide patient assistance with daily living activities.
• Assist in moving and lifting patients using safe techniques.
• Perform vital signs and basic nursing tasks as directed.
• Support unit secretary duties and data entry as needed.
• Operate remote video monitoring when applicable.
