Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician III to join the Emergency Department team. Under licensed supervision, you will provide patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support various unit-specific duties across departments such as telemetry and rapid response areas.

Roles include phlebotomy in certain locations, EKGs, and using EMR systems. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate patient care within a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience with acute care setting or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to RN about patient observations.
• Maintain patient safety and de-escalation of agitated patients as directed.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Assist with treatments and prepare equipment and supplies.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and specimen transport as required.
• Perform phlebotomy in certain locations and support unit operations.
