Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Patient Care Tech III for the Emergency Department/Unit, supporting the nursing team in delivering high-quality care. You will perform patient care activities, monitor vitals, and assist with daily living tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Under licensed clinician supervision, you will help ensure patient safety, comfort, and effective communication with patients and families, while maintaining professional standards and teamwork across the unit.

Qualifications

• Clear and effective communication with RN and care team.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and basic clinical workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of the licensed clinician.
• Take and record vital signs; height and weight.
• Assist with daily living activities and patient mobility.
• Assist with patient transfers and safety; use proper body mechanics.
• Observe and report changes in patient conditions to the nurse.
