Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Tech III for the Inpatient South 3 unit. This part-time day shift role focuses on direct patient care under licensed clinicians.

You will perform vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, support safety, and help with unit operations, telemetry, and specimen collection as trained. Qualifications include a high school diploma, current BLS, hospital experience or EMT, strong communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• Demonstrated competency attainment in the PCT II level or 1 year of acute care/hospital experience or 1 year of EMT Paramedic experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
• Medical Terminology.
• Computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations and changes.
• Performs constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assists with daily living activities and mobility.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques.
• Takes and records vital signs and basic measurements.
• Supports other unit operations and equipment maintenance as directed.
