Job summary

The Little Clinic is seeking a Patient Care Technician to help maximize patient flow and deliver an excellent patient experience. You will perform administrative duties, document in the EHR, and support providers under on-duty supervision.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, maintaining a clean clinic, collecting payments, verifying insurance, and assisting with vitals and history in designated clinics. Strong teamwork and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Basic math skills including counting, addition and subtraction.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and task-management skills.
• Any previous experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare is a plus.
• Knowledge of infection control practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, quality-based, survey-ready healthcare environment as required to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.
• Greet customers or potential patients in the front area or near the clinic.
• Clean and organize the clinic space daily and disinfect equipment.
• Handle questions following HIPAA guidelines and consult with the provider as needed.
• Manage waiting room flow using queue and appointment systems.
• Complete patient registration and logging in the EHR.
• Verify patient identity using government-issued ID.
• Explain payment options and collect payments, logging in the EHR.
• Collect insurance information and process payments in the EHR.
• Scan documents or flag the provider to complete scanning.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and document chief complaints and vitals.
• Provide guidance on registration, wait times, and available services.
• Answer calls and perform daily patient callbacks per policy.
• Prepare for off-site events and arrange weekly orders for provider approval.
