Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under the direction of Registered Nurses and LPNs. You will communicate with the care team and patients, help with mobility and daily tasks, and participate in patient safety and satisfaction initiatives.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of a PCT course or CNA program, with BLS certification. Phlebotomy/EKG skills are a plus in ED positions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene).
• Support RN/LPN and care team; communicate changes in patient status.
• Performs vital signs, phlebotomy and EKGs as certified; document appropriately.
• Reinforce patient and family education; participate in quality initiatives and orientation of new hires.
