Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to support daily living activities and collaborate with the healthcare team on patient care plans. The role emphasizes compassionate care, safety, and clear communication with patients and families.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of PCT/CNA-related training, and a BLS certification, with phlebotomy/ECG skills a plus for ED assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a PCT course, RN fundamentals course, or CNA program.
• Experience with direct patient care preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy training may be required for ED positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, nutrition, hygiene) and mobility.
• Follow standard precautions and safe patient practices, including isolation when indicated.
• Perform vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley care per protocol.
• May perform phlebotomy and ECGs if certified.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN; respond appropriately.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
