Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey is seeking a part-time patient care technician to assist with activities of daily living under RN/LPN direction, supporting the healthcare team and maintaining professional ethics.

The role includes vital signs, phlebotomy and EKG if certified, patient education, and participation in patient satisfaction and performance improvement initiatives, with a day shift and on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting and mobility.
• Monitors vital signs, performs phlebotomy and EKGs if certified, and documents changes in patient status.
• Communicates with RN/LPN, patients and families to support care plans.
• Reinforces patient and family education and safety.
• Assists in orientation of new hires and participates in quality initiatives.
