Job summary

Community Care Physicians in Albany is seeking a full-time Patient Support Specialist to join our Family Medicine team. This 40-hour position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, focusing on front-desk duties and patient flow.

The role offers a $1,000 recruitment/retention bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills, medical office experience, and an ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education desirable.
• Prior clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule all follow up appointments as directed by the providers or as indicated on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on the appropriate waiver(s) according to insurance requirements
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update when necessary
