Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Patient Care Coordinator I to act as a professional liaison for patients and families, coordinating complex scheduling demands and ensuring smooth transitions between care settings.

Key duties include managing appointments, communicating with providers, updating records in the EHR, and supporting department operations. Onsite-only role with standard weekday hours, benefiting from comprehensive team-based care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in patient care setting preferred.
• Experience with Epic or other scheduling and registration software.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments related to treatment and outside referrals.
• Coordinate scheduling with other departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Communicate with patients, families, providers, and staff to identify needs and resolve problems.
• Update patient contact information in the EHR.
• Triage calls from physicians and patients to access care at Fred Hutch.
• Assist with training of new staff and block provider templates as needed.
• Provide continuity of care and develop trusted relationships with patients.
