Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an Appointment Center Patient Service Specialist to schedule appointments, answer physician hotlines, and coordinate services for patients and caregivers. This role supports accurate scheduling and patient communication across multiple sites.

A successful candidate will verify referrals, confirm insurance details, and handle post-appointment follow-ups while ensuring exceptional customer service and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience with Cleveland Clinic EPIC OR completion of the Cleveland Clinic Epic Scheduling and Registration and Appointment Center Scheduling trainings OR three years of relevant technical call center experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients and caregivers.
• Coordinate services and direct callers to scheduling areas.
• Determine appointment type and urgency; schedule and communicate details.
• Process and provide outbound call services.
• Capture and verify referrals, insurance coverage and physician data.
• Process appointment scheduling requests.
• Resolve scheduling issues and patient concerns.
• Monitor registration reports and assist with financial counseling referrals.
• Answer physician hotlines and schedule after-hours assistance.
