Qualifications

• High School graduate with vocational training or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience in a call center or centralized scheduling setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with urgency.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and managed care functions.
• Working knowledge of EHR, Vision system, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Answer, orient, and greet patients over the phone with a courteous, helpful manner throughout calls.
• Determine clinic location and schedule appointments in the Vision system.
• Collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information and document accurately for claims filing.
• Check if insurance requires pre-certification and initiate referral process.
• Maintain professional relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Provide timely responses to inquiries about patient accounts.
