Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a detail-oriented office professional to obtain insurance authorizations, coordinate patient referrals to specialists, enter and maintain comprehensive referral data, and verify all required documentation in our electronic health record system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a health care setting and/or office environment is helpful.
• Knowledge of practice management systems and data entry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance authorization from patient’s insurance company by phone, fax, or online.
• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists as requested by providers.
• Enter and maintain accurate referral data in the database.
• Verify all required documentation for the referral is provided.
• Call patients with appointment information and follow up as needed.
• Demonstrate adaptability and follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance and protect confidentiality.
• Participate in daily team huddles and support a patient-centered care team.
