Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is hiring a Full-time Referrals Coordinator to support the referral process. You will work under the Referrals Supervisor, coordinating with clinical and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate referrals and pre-authorizations.

The role emphasizes EPIC workflow, insurance pre-approvals, patient registration updates, and strong communication skills. Day shift with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth are provided.

Qualifications

• High Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years’ healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in a medical office or billing department preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain the electronic Epic Referrals Workqueue prescreening for completeness and urgency.
• Complete pre-authorization workflows as required.
• Contact insurance companies for prior approval requirements.
• Review and update patient registration for eligibility and PCP selection.
• Enter referrals into the system per protocols and provide feedback to ordering provider.
• Inform maintenance/ resource library of payor and provider information updates.
• Answer incoming calls to assist internal and external customers with referrals questions and issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and Supervisor.
