Job summary

UCSF Medical Center is looking for a Practice Coordinator 3 to be the friendly face of the administrative team. You will support front desk operations, handle referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, and liaise with clinical and management staff across multiple sites.

You will document patient requests, navigate the APeX system, and ensure smooth information flow between departments. Strong communication and organization are essential in this fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with four years related experience or college degree and 6 months related experience or equivalent combo.
• Fingerprinting clearance and cash collection capability.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple patient records systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Front desk check-in, phone encounters, referrals, and scheduling.
• Process authorization, verification, and eligibility tasks across sites.
• Document patient requests accurately and route to the proper team.
• Adhere to UCSF House and Telephone Standards and support patient flow.
