Job summary

Healogics, the nation’s leading provider of advanced wound care, is seeking a Patient Navigator to support our outpatient wound care center in Salem, OH. You will greet patients, schedule and coordinate appointments, verify insurance, collect charges, and maintain patient charts to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred), 2+ years of medical office experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting; prior medical coding experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong customer, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Ability to type 60 words per minute
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
• Ability to work with others in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Center leadership to maximize daily patient census
• Participates in staff meetings to support Center functions
• Greets patients and visitors, answers and routes calls to staff
• Maintains patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling and reminders
• Obtains and verifies patient insurance information including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations
• Collects and enters patient charges in databases
• Verifies and reconciles charges and prepares monthly survey data
• Assembles new patient charts and maintains existing ones; checks data completeness
• Coordinates/schedules ancillary testing with other hospital departments
• Arranges for patient transportation as needed
• Maintains office equipment and supplies; handles medical supplies as directed
• Performs other duties as required
