Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to perform clerical duties for patient appointment scheduling, phones, and related activities. You will respond to patients promptly, delivering courteous, proactive communication to ensure timely care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; business training is preferred and medical assistant certification is a plus. Bilingual Spanish is desired, with potential accommodations as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of progressive responsibility and related work experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records; EPIC a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer multiple phone calls and respond to customer requests including cross-department scheduling.
• Check eligibility with Insurance/Payers and obtain prior authorizations for services.
• Coordinate scheduling with providers and respond to urgent patient needs per protocol.
• Provide doctor-patient support using reference documents and knowledge base tools.
• Contribute to achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
• Handle administrative tasks including databases and forms processing.
• Use EMR and telephone systems for assigned tasks.
• Resolve patient problems of limited scope and complexity.
