Job summary

Luxor Eye Institute in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a confident Patient Care Coordinator to guide patients from consultation through treatment in ophthalmology and elective vision services. This role blends patient education, scheduling, follow-up, and coordination of premium services like cataract surgery, LASIK, ICL, and dry eyeCare.

Qualifications

• Excellent patient communication skills and ability to educate without giving medical advice.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple cases.
• Experience in healthcare sales or patient advocacy is preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through the consultation and treatment process.
• Educate patients on procedures and service options.
• Schedule consultations, treatments, and surgical appointments.
• Follow up with patients to advance scheduling.
• Coordinate referrals from optometrists and other providers.
• Maintain communication with referring offices.
• Track leads, consultations, conversions, and pending decisions.
• Discuss financing and payment options when appropriate.
• Document every patient interaction accurately.
• Coordinate with physicians, technicians, front desk staff, and leadership.
• Prevent patient loss due to poor follow-up.
• Support growth of premium cataract, LASIK, ICL, and dry eye services.
