Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking an energetic, compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to support our physicians and care teams in delivering an outstanding patient experience. This role is primarily based in our Maryland clinic and serves as a key connection between patients and providers.

Patient Care Coordinators play an essential role in ensuring patients feel welcomed, informed, and prepared for their visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a front-office, customer service, or healthcare clinic role preferred.
• Prior podiatric or orthopedic practice experience preferred.
• Medical billing and coding experience highly preferred.
• Experience using an EMR system; athenahealth preferred.
• Strong communication skills and professional presence.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional customer service and patient-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the front desk representative, answering phones and greeting patients warmly.
• Ensure accurate and timely patient check-in and information collection.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and patient inquiries.
• Maintain on-time clinic flow by notifying providers of patient arrivals.
• Retrieve, scan, update, and maintain patient records in the EMR (athenahealth).
• Collect patient payments and assist with billing-related questions.
• Manage office supply inventory and maintain an organized front office.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as needed.
• Travel to nearby clinics to provide additional support when required.
